Telethon Organizers and Partners
  • Irina Lavrik
Director of the “K-R Community” International Cultural Center, International Cultural Exchange Program Organizer
“Art Bridge for Good” is not just a charity telethon. It is a global platform where music, medicine, culture, and social responsibility come together for a single goal — supporting children with autism and their families.
Autism is not a local question. It knows no borders and does not depend on economic status or cultural context. It affects millions of families around the world, and yet the response to it remains fragmented — isolated initiatives, unequal access to support, and persistent misunderstanding. Our project is built on the conviction that a challenge of this scale requires a response of equal scale — global, interdisciplinary, and uncompromising in its commitment to dignity and equality.
We bring together different generations of artists — legends of the global stage and new K-pop stars, outstanding producers, leading global experts on autism, and representatives of the fashion, film, and culture industries from different countries. Here art reveals its greatest power — the ability to unite people and change society.
This is not about one country helping another. It is about professionals from different fields and different parts of the world recognizing that their expertise, their platforms, and their voices work more effectively when they come together. Medicine informs art. Art amplifies medicine. Culture opens doors. It is the understanding that lasting change happens when institutions, industries, and people unite around a common goal.
We believe that “Art Bridge for Good” is an important element of international cultural diplomacy, showing the world how art, medicine, and social responsibility can unite for the common human good. Here there are no borders and no secondary roles — there is a shared goal and a readiness to act together.

Inclusion begins the moment one person stops being a mystery to another and becomes a conversation partner.
We are used to thinking in diagnoses — it is more convenient for the world that way: to give a name, to find an explanation, to stop fearing what is unclear. But a person does not fit into a category. Especially one whose way of perceiving is structured differently: they hear more loudly, see in greater detail, feel more acutely — and what passes almost unnoticed for us is filled with special meaning for them. Their inner world is not "disordered" — it is structured differently. And this is not a defect, but another way of feeling and understanding the world. But it is important to say honestly: different does not mean easier. Behind the depth of perception often lies fatigue; behind attention to detail — a sensitivity that requires gentleness. Acknowledging this is also part of respect.
That is precisely why a telethon uniting music, art, medicine, fashion, and cinema is not just a format. It is an attempt to reach a person in all the languages in which they speak to the world. Music — because for many autistic people sound is not background but a way of breathing. Cinema — because an image allows us to see what cannot be conveyed in words. Fashion — because the body has the right to be visible and beautiful without justification. Medicine — because behind beauty and sound lies knowledge that removes fear.
But the main thing is that we speak not about people with autism, but with them. They are not the subject of our project — they are its co-authors: their voice, their experience, their perspective shape the very fabric of the telethon. Inclusion cannot be one-sided — otherwise it is not inclusion, but kindness from a distance.
This is the quiet revolution: not pity and not heroization, but recognition of the equal right to complexity. We do not want to "help special children" — we want the world to become more precise and finally correspond to what it has always been: multiple.

Deputy Director, Chief Content Officer (CCO), Special Envoy for Content Management, Creative Collaborations, International Cooperation, and External Relations
I would say that supporting children with autism is important primarily because behind every diagnosis we must continue to see a person.
This is a child with their own character, their own feelings, abilities, dreams, and their own way of perceiving this world. And they have the same right to a dignified life, to development, to education, to love, and to the opportunity to realize their potential.
It seems to me that it is important for us to move away from relating to autism exclusively through pity. Pity puts a person in the position of the weak. But it is far more important for us to talk about respect, acceptance, and opportunities.
We should not ask: “Why can’t this child be like everyone else?” It is better to ask: “What can we do so that they have the opportunity to be themselves?”
And in this, in my view, lies the maturity of society. How capable are we of seeing the value of a person who is different from us? How ready are we to create a space in which everyone can feel like a full part of the world?
For me, it is especially important that culture and art are capable of uniting people around such values. They know no borders, do not require a common language, and remind us of the most important thing — human life has equal value, regardless of how differently we perceive this world.
And therefore, when we talk about children with autism, we are actually talking about the future of society as a whole.
We cannot choose what every child will be like. But we can choose what the world around them will be like. I would like this thought to remain with people after our telethon: a child with autism is not a problem that needs to be fixed. They are a person who needs to be seen, heard, and supported.
And if this world becomes more attentive, more humane, and more open to differences — then we are truly moving in the right direction.

    K-drama actor, Republic of Korea

I think there is a significant difference between helping someone once and creating a system that can continue helping people over a long period of time.

Individual acts of kindness are valuable, but institutions can provide continuity, professional expertise and accessibility.

When someone creates a structure that can continue operating even after the initial attention disappears, the impact can become much greater.

I also think this can have a positive meaning for Korean culture. Korea is already known around the world through music, film, television and other forms of popular culture. Showing that cultural influence can also be connected to social contribution can create another kind of positive image.
